Today I got to trace some of the footsteps of the Ironman World Championship in Kona Hawaii! The street of Ali'i Drive is beautiful. Lined with in bloom azaleas, plumeria, hibiscus and red ginger, it's amazing! Oh yeah, and it's along the west shore of the Big Island of Hawaii. I ran from the Royal Sea Cliff, to the Kailua Bay, where the Ironman swim and transition area is. Ali'i is a part of the run course, and I could see why. The street becomes lined with spectators as competitors and triathletes finish their run into the finish line. Very awesome!
I run with the Garmin 910XT and love it! It truly has been a tried and true device that's lasted for a long time. I have run a marathon with it, several half marathons, an Ironman 70.3 and countless strength workouts. I use the Garmin Heart Rate Strap to track my heart rate and the Garmin Foot Pod to track my workouts and treadmill sessions when I can't get outside.
