There could be a lot of reasons you ended up here. Are you interested in learning more about the business? Is your wife thinking about selling Lipsense through SeneGence? Does your wife already sell Lipsense and you need someone to talk to? Well you are in the right place.
About a month ago, my wife decided to leave her position in an interior design business that she co-founded with her mom. They did amazing work, like out of a design magazine kind of stuff! We live near the University of Notre Dame and there is a lot of residential buildings going up, most of which is bought and inhabited with out of town buyers. It's really hard to furnish a condo or townhouse when you live out of town, so my wife's business struck gold by being in the position to provide a "turn-key" product. That means when the owners would enter the condo/townhouse for the first time, they would walk into a place right from the design magazines! Over the last several years, they went from a small mother/daughter business, to growing big enough to employ staff, and had a revenue upwards of a quarter million dollars! The money around Notre Dame is insane, and their business was able to grow inside that insanity!
This last year, though, things started to become tough for my wife. The working relationship with her mom started to take precedence over their familial relationship. They also dealt with a couple of really tough clients. One of which, via email, had them moving artwork a quarter inch at a time! THROUGH EMAIL! "I don't really like where that picture is positioned, can you move it a quarter inch lower?" They also had to deal with the natural ebbs and flows of visitors coming to Notre Dame. The building phases would allow a lot of activity and sales directly before the football season, then another burst right after classes ended. This led to some financial challenges during the decorating "off season". So after much thought, prayer and conversation, my wife decided to look elsewhere for an opportunity to provide some income for our family, and another challenge!
Along Comes Lipsense!
A friend of ours had started to sell Lipsense a few weeks before it even came up on our radar. She had a lot of posts on Facebook and Instagram, which had always been a bit of a turn off when other friends did that. Advocare, Nerium, Beach Body, and and doTerra have all fallen under that category, enough so, that my wife hesitated even starting because of that. She didn't want to be that person bothering her friends.
Well after a couple weeks, another friend of ours had bought some Lipsense, and my wife tried some. She couldn't believe how amazing it was, and how long the color stayed, unblemished! The seed had been planted. For the next week or so, she discussed with her friend, who was selling it, about joining her team and if she thought she wanted to sell Lipsense herself. During that time, there was a lot of studying and investigating. I've always had the negative feeling about Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) concepts, but this seemed a little different. Finally, I suggested that my wife "try it out", and the rest is history! The company is really booming and growing. I felt like now would be the time to at least try it out, and I'm happy she did!
With SeneGence, there is only a $55 charge to become a distributor. My wife was able to sell a bunch of miscellaneous stuff around the house so she could buy a little bit of stock to sell as well. With SeneGence, there is a tiered discount program for the distributors. If you only buy a small amount, the distributors discount is 20% off retail. The discount percentage goes all the way up to 50% off retail, if you buy around $750 in a single. My wife thought it would be best to "front load" the month, so she could live within the biggest amount of savings (and earnings). She was able to scrape together enough cash so she could place a big order. A couple days later, she had her first shipment of product, which was mostly accounted for already! We used a little more money, via our credit card, to buy some more product within that first week, because things were selling that well!
The Ball is Rolling!
Since that first week, things haven't slowed down for my wife! She had put in a ton of hours, and the results are staggering. She sold upwards of $4000 the first month! Yeah, I know, $4000!
She has also started a Facebook group, Indiana Lip Moxie by Mo, my wife's name is Mo.
The nice thing about this group, is that if her friends and our family gets tired of hearing about Lipsense, they don't have to see it. She doesn't post a lot of stuff through her personal Facebook page, mainly through the Moxie Page and Group.
She also started a blog! Check out Indiana Lip Moxie via a Weebly blog. For her blog, she had a friend that offered to take professional pictures and they turned out amazing!
In the last month, Mo has done over a dozen demo appointments, showing potential clients how to apply and test some colors out. She is preparing for a Launch Party and has a couple parties planned where friends invite friends. The networking of social media is amazing, and it's really growing her following.
The Student becomes the Teacher
Quickly after Mo started, she began to think about some of her friends that would be great at selling. A couple of them actually approached her, and wanted to start selling. So far, she has two active distributors under her already. It has been an easy sell, because Mo has had such a great experience. She has helped them with initial ideas, how to track the stock and paperwork, and even launch their own social media accounts! As Mo is a part of a bigger team, before long, she'll have her own bigger team, and I can't wait to see how well she cares for them!
It Amazes Me
There are a couple things that amaze me about this situation. First, is how fast it's taking off. We never would have guessed it was going to be this quick. I thought maybe over several months it would grow to what it is after only a month. The growth she's seen in her social media sites has been pretty amazing as well.
Secondly, her work ethic continues to impress me. Husbands, if you are wandering what kind of entrepreneurship and work ethic your wife has, let her try something like this and watch! SeneGence has very few rules and policies on how things have to be done, which opens up a whole area of creativity that really allows their distributors to glow.
Lastly, how she is encouraging and building into her "downline" (the distributors under her). The teamwork and idea brainstorming is really special to see. They are going to be some of the most driven, creative, and hard working women I know, and they will truly be running their own businesses!
So, men, husbands, boyfriends, if your significant other is considering taking the next step into Lipsense and SeneGence, encourage them to do it!
